Talisman Theatre

This is our main fund-raising event for 2010, so bring your love of culture, your chequebook and be prepared for great theatre, to win wonderful prizes, and to have a good time! Our guest of honour is MARC GARNEAU. Chris Dilworth of Talisman Theatre will open the event and Barry Cole (of the Cole Foundation) will be making the introduction.

Admission: To be admitted to the Talisman Theatre Annual Fund-Raising Event you must either 1) make a donation of $100 or more (includes two tickets to the final performance), or 2) have purchased regular ticket to the final performance, or 3) have purchased a raffle ticket (before 9:45 p.m.), or 4) pay a cover charge of $10.00 at the door (after 9:45 p.m.).

Donations: Donations can be made in the theatre before the show begins, and after the raffle draw ends: please look for the red 'DONATIONS' sign. Charitable donation tax receipts for donations of $100 or more will be mailed to you after the event. Raffle tickets ($10 each) will be on sale at the door until 09:45 p.m. after which the cover charge ($10 per person)applies.

Guest of honour: Marc Garneau:

Garneau

Marc Garneau Ph.D. became the first Canadian astronaut to fly in space as a payload specialist on Shuttle Mission 41-G, October 1984. He became an Officer of the Order of Canada in 1984 and was promoted to the rank of Commander in 2003. He became the Chancellor of Carleton University in 2003 and stepped down from this position in October 2008. Marc Garneau was elected as the Liberal Member of Parliament for the federal riding of Westmount-Ville Marie on 14 October 2008. He was inducted into Canada's Aviation Hall of Fame on the 28th of May 2008.

Mr. Garneau will be making a short presentation on 'The social significance of the Arts' and drawing the prize-winning tickets for our fund-raising Wrap Raffle.
