Pierre-Michel has been writing professionally for over 25 years. In 1996 he founded the theatre company Éternels Pigistes, which has produced three of his plays, Quelques Humains, le Rire de la mer, and Mille feuilles and it was an immediate and spectacular success. Pierre-Michel Tremblay has written for several television programs, including the Délirium le Grand Blond avec un show sournois, la Petite Séduction, Le Fric Show, Un gars une fille. Recently he wrote the script for the web series Neuroblast for the CBC. He has written texts and acts as a script doctor for many popular comedians in Quebec. Pierre-Michel is also considered to be an expert on humor and creativity : Professeur de créativité et d'histoire de l'humour at l'École nationale de l'humour, he also co-directed the series Humour at Lanctôt éditeur. His play Coma Unplugged was produced by le Théâtre de la Manufacture and directed by Denis Bernard. This play received seven nominations at the Masques, including one for Best Text. It was then translated into English for a production at GCTC in Ottawa. In the winter of 2010, his play Champ de Mars was produced by Théâtre de la Manufacture. An English translation by Paula Wing was completed in fall 2010. This version was produced successfully by Imago Theatre in November 2010. |
